GameBoost - Enhance Computer Gaming and Internet Performance
Review by on
The main thing you need to know about the PGWARE-developed GameBoost application is what it can do for you. So, what can this application do? In a nutshell, it tweaks your computer so that it provides better gaming performance and it tweaks your internet connection so that you get better transfer speeds. GameBoost is in a fact a mix of two other PGWARE-developed applications – GameGain and Throttle.

GameGain is an application that promises to do the following:
- The application will optimize your computer performance and make your games run faster. It makes changes to the registry and system files to enhance memory, screen drawing, animations, refresh rates, and CPU thread speeds.
- Frame per second settings are automatically adjusted
- Finds and repairs problems that affect the computer’s performance

Throttle on the other hand promises to do the following:
- The application increases download and upload speeds by making changes to the registry and system files.
- It increases internet and local network transfer speeds.
- Throttle works with Dial-Up, DSL, ADSL, Cable, ISDN, Satellite, and Mobile Phone internet connections.

Mix the functionality of GameGain with the functionality of Throttle and you get GameBoost. It’s as simple as that.

Before you go get GameBoost and put it to the test, take a look at the technical details presented below:
Download – the download weighs in at 1.5MB, which is quite lightweight. At such a lightweight download size it will only take a moment to get GameBoost off the web and onto your computer.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, GameBoost provides support for Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit editions).
Limitations – 28-day trial, some features are disabled in the trial version.

Pros
  • The application comes with a very simple, easy to figure out interface that should not pose a problem to any user, not even the novice.
  • Lightweight download
  • Boost gaming performance
  • Speeds up your internet connection
  • Increases internet and local network transfer speeds
  • Compatible with Windows 7

Cons
  • Free to try (28-day trial, limited features)
